Flower Essence Practitioner Training Program

It's time to reserve your place in the 2009 certification program!

Dates have been set for the 2009 Lichenwood Herbals Flower Essence Practitioner Training Program. We will meet on the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 9:30am to 4:30pm on May 9-10, June 13-14, and September 12-13. Classes take place at Lichenwood, 12 Old Canaan Road, Barrington, New Hampshire.

Your tuition of $750 includes all three weekends of classes, an optional one on one coaching session of up to 6 hours, more than 300 pages of handouts in a sturdy binder, a starter kit of 13 flower essences, and a half price discount on the purchase of any of the Lichenwood Herbals flower essences purchased between May 3rd and September 14th. Contact by phone or email in between classes is encouraged. You are also offered a discount on flower essence therapy sessions for yourself.

There are no required reading materials other than those that are provided in your handouts. However, most students do purchase books during the course of the class. You will receive an annotated bibliography as part of your materials. Lichenwood has an extensive library of books, cd’s, cassette tapes, dvd’s and videos. Some of these are available for borrowing. Those that cannot be borrowed may be used at Lichenwood, by appointment.

In order to receive certification you will need to complete a “plant study” and follow two clients through three sessions of flower essence therapy, preparing case studies for submission. You will receive ample guidance throughout this process. You have up to a year, after the last class weekend, to submit materials for certification. Extensions are granted on a case by case basis.

It is important to know that no certifications are required to do this work. Students take this class for many reasons. Some simply want to understand how to co-create flower essences and how to effectively use the essences with their family members and friends. Others are looking for adjunct therapies to enhance their work as counselors, therapists, herbalists or body workers. This class is suitable for students at all levels of knowledge.

A brief interview is required, by phone or in person, to be accepted into the program. This is a time for both student and teacher to ask questions about the classes and what is expected. Only 6 students maximum will be granted admission to the program each year. A $250 deposit is needed to hold your place. Tuition must be paid in full by the first day of class. You are welcome to pay in increments and will receive a confirming email and update on your payment status for every check received. Payments must be made by check or money order. All deposits are refundable up until February 28, 2009. Your tuition cannot be refunded after that date unless I am able to fill your reserved spot in the program.

Absences may mean that you are no longer eligible for certification. Each day of class provides you with fundamental principles that are critical to your successful completion of the program. I will make every attempt to work with students who are sincere, yet experience extenuating circumstances that prevent them from attending any part of the class. The group dynamic adds much to your experience, however, and that cannot be duplicated in any time we might spend reviewing missed sessions. Make up sessions are completely up to the discretion of the instructor.

Please plan on spending time outside, in the garden, the woods, and the fields. You should be physically healthy enough to hike for an hour or two over uneven ground, possibly in hot weather. You must use natural insect repellent. We will do tick checks after our walks to minimize the chances of tick bites. For our indoor work, you should anticipate being able to listen, participate in discussion, and sit on a comfortable chair for several hours while enjoying fascinating information! Bring drinks, snacks, and a lunch each day in an insulated carrier. Water, tea, and coffee is available for everyone. You may not smoke, drink alcohol, or do drugs anywhere on the premises. You may not bring pets or children to class.
